A New Chapter Begins

Down in the valley where the river winds through, sits a little yellow house of 102 years.  Outside, there is room enough for the children to run and a garden to grow and the little flock of hens to take residence. Inside, there is 1,096 square feet of space, with cabinets and nooks a plenty for the perpetual playing of hide and seek.

This is the setting upon which our new chapter begins. But how does the previous chapter end? With many words, I dare say. More than I’ve had time to even articulate in my own mind, let alone through my fingertips.

How does one summarize three and half years of living in 250 square feet, while renovating every inch from the inside out? It will be a process to be sure. And if there are inquiring minds, I’d be glad to share—one on one, or by way of an eventual journal entry. But for now I can say with the most grateful heart that our prayers have been heard and answered, and how glad I am to allow the wonder of childhood to pour over this home and fill it with stories and memories everlasting.

I hope you’ll enjoy this little collection of images of our first weeks home—and a video from a whimsical snowy welcome that was a thrill for us all.

Until the pages fill with words… wishing you a Merry Christmas, one and all.
