A Walk Through the Garden

My dear friends, if I could dream, as I am apt to do, I would dream you all right over for a visit in our garden. Wherein you would receive a pail full of freshly picked strawberries and cup of chamomile tea, which we would dually enjoy in the center of the garden at the little table adorned with, and surrounded by an array flowers.

In the two months since I last shared the progress of our garden, we have been as busy as ever continuing to cultivate a space or beauty, joy, and nourishment.

Presently we are still working to clear out patches of last years weeds, while hastily trying to contend with this seasons assortment. All the while we continue to sow seeds and have begun to harvest chamomile, strawberries, and peas by the basketful.

I have felt over these past few years that my garden is in many ways a reflection of myself. It’s a bit of free spirit with ideas of its own and a little unruly, but in a pretty sort of way. Though it bares the often untidy marks of spending a great deal of time with my children, I find it all the lovelier for the ways in which they have shaped it.

It has grown and changed a lot in three years time. We all have, together, and within it. And for all that could still be done, I consider it pure joy that my hands shall never be in want of work.

My dears, I’ll spare you any further ramblings as this time. There is always so much I want to share, but for now I’d be glad to take you on a very brief walk through the garden (filmed at the end of June). It’s a little wobbly on account of the baby on my hip, but I hope you’ll enjoy it all the same.

And do remember that I always cherish the opportunity to talk garden and share dreams with one another. It would be a thrill for me to know if our garden and the heart we pour into ignites a spark in you.

A final note in support of the small shops we are deeply grateful to partner with and support; a list and links for your convenience.

Nearly the entire garden was started from seed, as has been the practice all three years. Most of our seeds this year (and last) are from Halden Garden—and I’d like to add that they are growing both beautiful and abundantly! I’ll add a more comprehensive list of what we are growing in an upcoming post.
